Biology / Biotechnology
I love sustainability because technological advancement in order to create a favorable place to live is the reality that the 21st century must face. I wanted to contribute my time, efforts and talent toward a project that would extend beyond the classroom, incorporate different areas of expertise from different disciplines, and help me gain exposure to different ideas such as sustainable living, solar technologies, and the Silicon Valley’s rich tradition of innovation.
I hope that by building energy-efficient homes, the combined efforts of all the Solar Decathlon teams will encourage the affordability and availability of energy-conserving technologies.
Post-Santa Clara Plans:
Work in the bioscience/biotechnology industry combining my interests of science, research, and business.
Favorite sustainable thing to do: Conserve electricity. Sustainable living is somewhat limited on a college campus, but through the environmental studies and biology departments, classes in science advancement encourage and stimulate knowledge to make sustainable living a closer reality.
